Visitors are not required to follow a strict dress code in Morocco, and you will see a wide range of clothing in the big cities and tourist areas. Still, Morocco is a Muslim country with traditional values, and a few simple choices will make your trip more comfortable and show respect.
Loose, light clothes that cover the shoulders and the knees are comfortable and are accepted everywhere. This works especially well in the old medinas, in small towns and in the countryside, where people dress more traditionally.
Most mosques in Morocco are closed to non-Muslims. The main exception is the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, which can be visited with a guided tour. Cover your shoulders and knees there, and for any religious place.
