Visa and Entry Requirements for Morocco

Visa rules, passport validity, health advice and customs, so your arrival in Morocco goes smoothly.

Do you need a visa?

Visitors from Spain, the rest of the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and many other countries can stay in Morocco as tourists for up to 90 days without a visa. A passport is enough to enter.

If your nationality is not on the exempt list, check with the Moroccan consulate before you travel. Entry rules can change, so it is best to confirm them close to your departure date.

Your passport

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Morocco. When you arrive, your entry is stamped and you may fill in a short form. Keep the stamp and the form, because you may be asked for them when you leave.

A national ID card is not accepted. To enter Morocco you always need a passport, even if you are travelling from Spain.

Vaccines and health

  • No vaccines are compulsory to enter Morocco from Europe or the Americas.
  • It is recommended to be up to date with your usual vaccinations.
  • Drink bottled water.
  • Travel insurance with medical cover is not compulsory, but it is strongly advised.

Customs and other details

  • Bringing large amounts of dirhams into Morocco or taking them out is prohibited, because the dirham is a closed currency.
  • Drones are usually held at customs, so do not bring one without a permit.
  • Keep your entry form and present it when you leave.
